Create a spooky & ghoulish Halloween themed RV this season with 10 easy & simple ways to decorate.
Fall, known for its cooler weather, colorful foliage, and Halloween spirit, is one of the best times of the year to get in your RV and go on a trip. From exploring the witchy town of Salem, Massachusetts to driving the Great Smoky Mountains scenic roads, Fall is a great time to get out of the house and into your RV.
As a big fan of Halloween, I had A LOT of decorations when we lived in our apartment and most of them were not suitable for travel. Since then I’ve been figuring out how to make our RV the most spooky using simple decor.
In this post, we are sharing 10 ways to decorate that are simple, lightweight, and effective at making your RV spooky and ghoulish this Fall season.
#1. FAKE SPIDER WEB
One of the cheapest and most effective ways to create a creepy setting in your RV is with Super Stretchy Fake Spider Web and lots of it! Put them over cabinets and drawers for a simple and easy way to get the Halloween feel going. You can also add on some fake spiders to complete the look.
#2. PUMPKIN PLACEMATS
Simple and useful, pumpkin placemats are an easy way to add some fall flare to your dinette table. They pop with color, are machine washable and store away easily when not in season. Nothing says Halloween like a pumpkin.
#3. STICK ON BATS
Stick on Bats can be placed all around the RV for some spooky flare. Put them in fake spider web or in a kids room for simple and easy Halloween fun.
#4. STRING LIGHTS
Festive lights make a big impact for the Fall season. Purple, orange, and green lights create a perfect ambiance for movie nights in the RV. Put them around the kitchen island, along the slides, or over a doorway. Secure them with commands mini clips and you’re good to go.
#5. BLACK FABRIC
Black fabric is an easy way to make your RV feel dark and creepy with very little effort. They come several feet long and can be cut to place wherever you choose. They work great draped over windows, around the doorway or along the slides.
#6. GARLAND
A classic Halloween decoration, garland is lightweight and comes in a variety of Halloween characters, such as, pumpkins, ghosts, and bats. Pair them with commands mini clips and you can put them pretty much anywhere in your RV. My favorite spot is around the kitchen island and along the slides.
#7. THROW BLANKETS
With Fall brings cooler weather which make themed blankets a perfect way to stay warm and be festive. Drape them over your couch to put them on display.
#8. FALL DRAPES
Drapes work great to cover the valence box’s that come standard on most RV windows. It’s an easy way not only create a homey feel but also decorate for the holiday season. We got them in terracotta color and love the warmth it brings to our living space. They also come in black if you are looking for a more sinister look. Not to mention they weigh virtually nothing and store away nicely.
#9. WALL SCONCES
Rustic Wall Sconces are a great way to add some small decorative Fall/ Halloween pieces found on your travels or from your local craft store. This can add a nice homey touch to your traveling home. Secure them to the wall with a couple heavy duty command strips and you’re good to go.
#10. DECORATIVE TOWELS
Another simple and useful decor piece is fall or Halloween themed hand towels for the kitchen or bathroom. Swap them for your everyday hand towels and store them away when the seasons over. Easy and festive.
