1. DELICATE ARCH
LOCATION: DELICATE ARCH TRAIL & VIEWPOINTS
Delicate Arch is by far the most popular arch to visit in Arches National Park. Standing 46 feet tall and 32 feet wide, Delicate Arch is the largest free standing arch in the entire park and it’s the one featured on Utah’s license plate.
There are 3 ways to see Delicate Arch, first and most popular is the 3 mile trail that takes you right up to the arch. This is a great spot to experience a sunrise or sunset in the park. For those looking for an easier route, the Lower & Upper Viewpoints are shorter and less strenuous walks, however Delicate Arch is much further in the distance.
2. LANDSCAPE ARCH
LOCATION: DEVILS GARDEN TRAIL
The longest arch in North America, Landscape Arch spans 306 feet wide and only 6 feet in diameter. You used to be able to go right up to the arch until fragments broken off and fell while visitors were underneath. Since then the arch can be viewed from a safe distance.
3. NORTH & SOUTH WINDOWS
LOCATION: THE WINDOWS SECTION
Another popular spot in Arches National Park is the North & South Windows. These two massive side by side arches are joined together by a band of rock known as the nose bridge. The South Window is the third largest arch in the park at 105 feet wide and 65 feet tall. The North Window is 93 feet wide and 51 feet tall. The Windows can be accessed via the 1.2 mile loop trail.
4. TURRET ARCH
LOCATION: THE WINDOWS SECTION
Turret Arch is a free standing sandstone fin located next to the North & South Windows. It looks similar to a key hole with the opening larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. This arch can be reached via the 1.2 mile Windows trail.
5. SAND DUNE ARCH
LOCATION: SAND DUNE ARCH TRAIL
Sand dune arch is one of the most unique arches in Arches National Park because it’s tucked in between several large sandstone fins. The 0.3 mile path to the arch is flat and sandy is a great place to find shade from the summer sun.
6. DOUBLE ARCH
LOCATION: THE WINDOWS SECTION
Double Arch is by far one of the most jaw dropping arches found in Arches National Park. It’s the tallest arch in the park at 112 feet tall and the second longest at 144 feet wide. The path to the arch is a short & easy 0.6 mile trail up to the base with some hikers choosing to climb up into the arch. Double Arch can easily be combined with The Windows & Turret Arch.
7. PINE TREE ARCH
LOCATION: DEVILS GARDEN TRAIL
Pine Tree Arch is one of the several arches found on the Devils Garden trail and features an uneven opening surrounded by pine trees. The arch is a short walk from Tunnel Arch.
8. BROKEN ARCH
LOCATION: SAND DUNE ARCH TRAILHEAD
The Broken Arch trail is an easy scenic stroll through Arches desert grassland to an almost broken arch. Wind erosion created this unique rock formation. It can be combined with Sand Dune Arch trail to making it an easy 1.2 mile loop. It can also be accessed from the Devils Garden Campground.
9. TUNNEL ARCH
LOCATION: DEVILS GARDEN TRAIL
Tunnel Arch is one of the first arches you can see on the Devils Garden trail and features a large tunnel like hole created in a giant sandstone fin. It’s a short walk from Pine Tree Arch.
